The Beginning

It's the beginning of this blog and I'd like to say welcome. This is going to be my place for individuals to come and read about my cooking experiences and hopefully share some of theirs.

I started cooking when I was 11 years old with my Aunt Ruth at our summer cottage in Michigan. She helped me understand that a recipe is just a guideline. Make the recipe work for you, not the other way around. You can't call it your own if you just copy a recipe and use that all the time, can you? She and I would sit and flip through cookbooks combining different recipes and substituting ingredients to make them our own. Don't get me wrong, we don't take all the credit. She and I like to impress our family though.

So this is my quest. I want to have others help me, and I want to help others. If you have any good info or recipes, feel free to email me at captaincheeno@gmail.com
